I am having trouble accessing my iPhone's software update server. I am unable to make contact with it.

I am receiving error message while trying to update my iPhone's software which reads as follows:

The iPhone software update server could not be contacted

The iPhone software update server could not be contacted. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later.

I would be most grateful if someone could post a solution to my problem.

Thank you.

Hi,

This problem could be because to different reason as follow:

  • This error occurs mostly because of network connection error. If your connection is properly installed and works then you should set proxy setting if you’re using network with proxy server.
  • This problem could be because of older version of iTunes you should update this.

Thank you

Hi Greg,

I will certainly help you. From above screenshot, it is clear that, you do not have access to Internet connection. First connect your PC to Internet and then open iTunes and try to sync and update your iPhone. One reason could be that the IPhone server may be busy at that moment. If you have active Internet connection, then try again later.

Hi Greg Lewis,

You will be needing to change your Internet Options to automatically detect the settings. You may have changed your internet options from the past. To do this, go to the Control Panel. Click on the Start round button of your computer and type in the search box, "Control Panel." Then choose the Control One. The Control Panel window will now open. Choose Internet Options. Click on the connections tab. Below you will see a LAN settings button.

Please click this button. Then check the box for Automatically detect settings. This should fix your network connections. Then you may reopen your ITunes and connect your device successfully.

Hope this solution works for you.
