The new iPhone 5 from Apple already supports LTE. This model was announced in September of 2012 and was also released at the same time. It supports 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. It measures 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 millimeters and weighs 112 grams or around 3.95 ounces. It has an LCD-backlit IPS capacitive touchscreen LCD with 16 million colors and 640 x 1136 pixels screen resolution.

The display uses Corning Gorilla Glass that has oleophobic coating that ensures protection for the screen. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a microSD slot. It uses Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and v2.0 for the USB connectivity. It runs on iOS 6 and can be upgraded to iOS 6.1.4 as well as a planned upgrade to iOS 7.0.

It is powered by Apple A6 chipset with a dual-core 1.3 GHz CPU and a PowerVR SGX 543MP3 [triple-core graphics] GPU. It is integrated with accelerometer, compass, gyro, and proximity sensors. For its internet connection capability, it only supports HTML via Safari unlike other brands that already support HTML5. It is also integrated with a GPS with A-GPS supports and GLONASS.

If you are wondering if Java is supported, unfortunately it’s not. Standby time is up to 225 hours on 2G and 3G while talk time is up to 8 hours on both 2G and 3G networks. It is priced at around 500 Euros. See image.
