IE8 has encountered a problem and needs to close

Win 7 is my operating system. Internet explorer 8 is the browser that I am having a problem.

Yesterday when I tried to open it I got a message saying

I tried rebooting my PC, but that didn’t work. I wonder if I can do uninstall and reinstall IE to fix this.

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

So for the meantime I am using Google chrome to browse through the internet. I really want to get it fix because Internet Explorer is my favorite browser of all times. I attached a screenshot for reference.

Hi, I've read the issue of your internet explorer and here is the solution to the issue:

* Click 'start' and then the menu will open. On the right side of the menu, Click 'control panel' a screen will open up, look for 'internet options' and then click it. a screen will load up, we need to click on the last tab to the right which is 'advanced'

Then at the very bottom part of the screen, click reset. A message will load up "are you sure you want to reset the internet explorer browser". click 'reset' . Click 'reset' again and then a small box will load up, wait for all the things there to be checked And then click 'close' Try opening the internet explorer and then 'ask me later' the pop up window telling you to install the internet explorer 8 or 9 and then proceed connecting to the internet.

If this wont resolve the issue, that means that we need to uninstall and reinstall the internet explorer. Click 'Start' Click 'control panel' Click 'programs' Click 'uninstall a program' look for the 'internet explorer 8' and then click it . It will be highlighted in blue, then click 'uninstall' wait for the uninstall process to finish and then restart the computer 

Open Google chrome and on the address bar type: filehippo.com and hit ENTER look for the internet explorer version that you want to install on the list of software and click it. It will change the screen, on the right side click download this version or download now the installation will start follow the steps that you will see there until its done and there you have it. The new internet explorer on the computer.

Hi,

Here are some of the solution that might also assist you with the problem. The error message, "Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." is related to a script debugger/Pdm.dll. We can fix the error message through Internet Explorer options. Here are the following steps:

  1. Open Internet Explorer. If you cannot open Internet Explorer, try going to: * start * Click "Control Panel" * Click "Internet Options" 2. Click "Tools" and "Internet Options," if you're able to open the Internet explorer.
  2. Click the "Advanced" tab
  3. Check the box next to "Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer)"and "Disable Script Debugging (Other)."
  4. Click "OK" and restart your computer. The "Internet Explorer Has to Close" dialog box should no longer appear. This is the other way to resolve the issue and hopefully I had somehow resolve the problem of the Internet Explorer.
