Installing 64 bit system onto a 32 bit without formatting

I have a 32 bit system that I wanted to upgrade to 64 bit, the problem is that I have large files that I consider not to loose in partition C and I wanted to know if there is way to upgrade without necessarily formatting the entire drive? Can the upgrade work with all the associate window programs like media player?

It is possible to upgrade your 32 bit system to 64 bit without necessarily formatting the entire drive. You can simply go to the Microsoft website and download the 64 bit update pack. Install it, once it has finished, your computer will restart and your system will have been upgraded to 64 bit successfully.
