I’m having trouble with compressing an iMovie made file that I spent a lot of time trying to complete.
The process begins just fine but it seems to brake in the middle and gives me a failure message that goes like this:
A File Compression Error Occurred. The movie could not be properly compressed. The movie may contain some data that is invalid for the type of compression selected
Does anyone have a clue on how to fix this one?
Please help, thanks in advance.
IMovie made file compression error
Hello Joshua Simons,
Is the movie that you are trying to compress on a CD or you have it on computer or a portable USB drive? If the movie file is on a CD or DVD, then it may be possible that the CD has problems, may be it is scratched, and therefore during the compression process some data cannot be read leading to the error that you are receiving.
But in case you have the movie on a computer or a portable drive that is you cannot say it can have problem with scratches as the CD, then the problem is with the movie itself. May be it has been corrupted and thus the broken files within it are causing the error to occur when you are compressing it.
