MIA,

I think that your problem may be due to possibility of a virus in your computer due to which you are unable to uninstall the AVG. Sometimes it may happen due to virus. We are unable to install the virus protector. Try to work in safe mode and then try to uninstall it from there and if also this does not work, then you should do the direct way of deleting the AVG and that direct way is that you should go to your window installation drive and in program files delete the AVG folder completely but before doing this disable it from the taskbar, and after uninstalling AVG then try to install Norton, if there is no any virus in your computer Norton will install successfully otherwise it may also not be installed.

Try these things hopefully you will be able to sort up your problem.

Hello! Mia,

If you have difficulty in uninstalling the AVG Antivirus, there is something wrong with the program itself. First option is to Re-install a fresh copy of AVG Antivrus, so that the broken files that hinders the un-installation process will be repaired. After the installation is complete, restart your computer then proceed with the Un-installation process.

If you find the first option a tedious task. then download Total Uninstall or Perfect Uninstaller. These utility programs collects all the details of your application programs installed in your computer. It will then create their own un-installation method, to make the un-installation of your applications easier, even if the un-installation file of the application itself is corrupted just like the error of your Antivirus program.
