I want to compress outlook saved mails

hi,

I have saved a bunch of mail in my OutLook Express. Total mail sizes is more than five GB. Can I compress outlook mails without deleting them!

Hi,

I am glad to help you in regard of your query if you can compress your outlook mails without deleting them. At the end of this, you will be able to compact or compress your saved messages and folders. It is simple, just follow this steps. First click “File” on the menu tab, move your mouse pointer to the “Folder” then click “Compact All folders”.  And if you only want to compress a specific folder, you can do it by doing this procedure. Click “File”, move again your mouse pointer on “Folder” then choose “Compact” then you can select the folder you want to be compressed.

Hi,

You can export your data to safe place and then rename your inbox. A new inbox will be created for you. Now you can delete the older one from outlook express. It is normally under maintenance option in outlook. Now copy store location and paste it run.

You will be there in data location of outlook. Find the renamed file. For example you have named my old data, there will be myolddata.dbx just delete it. Now you have moved your old data to safe location and you can start from zero size.

Generally outlook express data file size limit is 2 GB. So it is recommended to do this before 2 GB size as there is always a chance with file to be corrupted.
