While trying to download Norton Remove & Reinstall tools from the website I received an error message. The error message directed me to visit the Norton remove and reinstall website as directed by the error message to get more information regarding this error. However, I am unable to get any idea about installing this new tool.

I would request you guys to help me solve it. 

I would be much grateful.

Hi, 

Norton can be uninstalled through Add/Remove programs via “Control Panel”. Following are the steps provided:

Click “Start” select “Control Panel” and click “Add/Remove Programs”.

Look for Symantec/Norton on the programs listed and click “Remove”.

It will then show you "Modify Installation" select remove all. Upon successfully removing Norton, you will be prompted to restart your computer, restart your computer then.

Now, to re-install , go to http://norton.symantec.com/. Download Norton product that has been uninstalled to your computer and enter the product key when prompted (Go to your Norton account to get your product key).

Or you can also use this link to remove and reinstall Norton on your computer. 

Another option is to call semantic technical support since they can remote access your computer to resolve the issue.

Hello Martin,

First I would suggest you to download and run Malwarebytes. If everything is clean then it might be possible that certain condition could have arisen and you must re-install the program. You must follow the instructions to reinstall the program.

1- First you must export all of your credentials and identities used in Norton to your desktop.

2- Always make this sure that you have already set the Norton account.

3- Using Control panel uninstall your Norton software.

4- Download and instantly run the Norton removal Tool just to make sure it is completely removed. 

5- Restart your computer. Log in to your Norton account and download again.

Hi,

Thomson this thing usually happened when you are using manipulated software and patches to make your products registered and you got interrupted during updating of your product definition then the installer will be affected as you are using the product illegally and Norton is not giving you rights to do that.
 
Or it may be happening when you are using more than two antivirus on your machine and both are running simultaneously so you need to turn off the second antivirus such as windows defender come with windows 7/8.
