I have question regarding Windows vista/7 activation.?

Hello,

I have a notebook with vista and since I didn't use it for long time I forgot password. Somehow password recovery program didn't work for me. I have another computer with Windows 7 ultimate and I would like to install on that notebook Windows 7 instead of Vista.

My question is, can I use same product key on 2 computers? (I mean is it possible?) Or where can I download windows vista home premium since I didn't get CD with notebook (I have product key for it).

Is it possible to use the same product key in two computers?

If your license software is under OEM or Original Extended Manufacturer License, the license is valid for single computer only. But if you got the Bulk Licensing Agreement from Microsoft, you can use the same product key in two different computers but it can’t be running at the same time.

Now, if your Microsoft Windows 7 is an operating system that you just downloaded illegally, you have no limit for installing the same product key. Pirated Microsoft Operating system is detectable if you are connected online.

Some of the solutions that pirated copies do with this kind of operating system are by disabling the auto-updated options so that they will not be detected online. You will also avoid accessing Microsoft updates and supporting websites so that they will not detect your pirated operating system.

Since manipulating software is really known today, there are a lot of information and illegal version you can find on the Internet for just searching using the Google Search engine. But you have to remember that manipulating software is an illegal deed and is punishable by law. So you really have to get rid of it.

Hello,

I understand your situation. You can use the same product key actually BUT please keep in mind that the other computer would be discovered as a counterfeit. If you are ok with this then go ahead.

But sad to say you cant download genuine patches from Microsoft. Because upon downloading updates it will be automatically detected. Why not purchase another license for it to fully grasp the features of the product.

Using windows vista on two systems is not possible. It is not possible because you will face problems of counterfeiting windows vista version in either of one your computers after the installation. So, it is better that you would use two keys for two notebooks.
