You did not specify which version of Internet Explorer you are using. The latest version is the IE 9 so if you are using an older version, try to update your browser and then make IE 9 as your default browser. And also, remove all the software that might be having conflicts with the Internet Explorer. If there is a IDM installed on your PC, try to uninstall it. Maybe this is the reason why your browser just stops on responding.

I will also suggest to use other browser such as Opera, Firefox or Chrome. They are much faster and safer to use. And as of now, many users are most satisfied on using Firefox.

To resolve the runtime error, follow the steps below:

1. Launch Internet Explorer and click on Tools. Select Internet Options. Select the Advanced Tab and scroll down to the Disable Script Debugging (IE) and the Disable Script Debugging (Other). Tick the check boxes on each and then click Apply and OK to close the window.

2. Modify the security settings on IE. Launch the Internet Options again and click on Security Tab. Click the Default Level button and click Apply and OK when done.

3. Scan your computer for spyware and adware.

4. Run your antivirus software.

A runtime error is a software or hardware problem that prevents Internet Explorer from working correctly. Runtime errors can be caused if a website uses html code that is not compatible with the web browser functionality.
