For the last few days I am facing a blue screen problem time and again whenever I tried to work on my computer. I use licensed Kaspersky Internet Security Antivirus also but there is no effect. Do I need to format my current XP version and replace it with an upgraded one or try another option? Please experts, suggest me and help me out.

Thank you.

  • There are two solutions for this problem. Fast and the easiest is System Restore. That is a Windows feature which helps to restore the system to a date before the problem started.
  • Save all your open files and close open programs to prevent loss of data when the computer restarts after System Restore finishes.
  • Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > System tools and click on System Restore. Open this as Administrator if necessary. Click on Choose a different restore point and then click on Next. Pick a date before the problem started, click Next and Finish. System Restore would restart your computer.
  • If that doesn't help I suggest you restore Windows using the recovery disk (CD-ROM or DVD) or if you don't have that disk, you can install a new version of Windows from the installation disk.

Hi Hannah,

Choose or Select REGISTRY as shown below:

  • Sometimes, having a blue screen effect may cause of a corrupted system or either your RAM card or Graphic card breaks.
  • IF this problem does relate to your OPERATING SYSTEM or WINDOWS, Then you need to REFORMAT/REPROGRAM it to be able to continue your work.
  • If your computer is a desktop, then it's easy for you to understand what the meaning of a memory dump.
  • This means that your RAM needs to refresh.
  • In doing this, you need to unplug and cleaning the tip of the RAM. Cleaning the tip will deliberately make a good access of the hardware to its system thus makes a good communication to RAM and your computer.
  • You can also transfer it to the other slot after cleaning your RAM.
  • Do this same as in the Video/Graphic Card.
  • The other way to fix this problem is to have a registry cleaner software.
  • Go to this link and DOWNLOAD it. https://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
  • Just follow the steps for proper installation to finish.
  • After INSTALLING, You can locate the CCleaner in RECYCLE BIN in your Desktop.
unplug and cleaning the tip of the RAM
  • Follow the STEPS above.
  • Its ok if you will save the Trash or not. But I prefer to unsaved it.

I hope this will help you.
