I could not edit a document

While editing a document, a message appears saying that A Windows SharePoint Services compatible application could not be found. This has caused the document unedited. The installation of InfoPath has caused this and it is a very strange thing to me. Is there any idea or experience to solve it, please?

The document could not be opened for editing. A windows SharePoint Services compatible application could not be found to edit the document

I could not edit a document

 

Windows SharePoint Services are good software applications that run successfully on most computers.

Did you ever install this software on your system? Then it must be the remains of it. In order to remove this problem, either

1.    You must remove/ uninstall the software from your system

2.    You can change the default application to open these type of files. Right click the file and then properties. You shall see the Default program name. Click Change. You need to select the application needed by you as a default application to open that type of file.

Try both these solutions and let us know whether you are still having problems please.
