Hi techyv masters, I am posting here  my problem in sending my emails, my email failed to be sent because of an error message that I can't connect to the mail server.

Alert

Failed to connect to server mailqs2056.pair.com

As I am  pondering on the error message, It is pointing the error to my connection towards the mail server, because of that I check on my internet connection, it seems to be up and running because I can browse the internet, and there is no settings on my computer that will restrict me in sending emails, I already check on what is necessary based on my knowledge,

Please share some thoughts on what else shall I check,

Thanks.

Okay., let's try to troubleshoot it, first of all, make sure that Firewall allows thunderbird to access internet.

And Double check "mailqs2056.pair.com." has the correct server address entry in thunderbird.

If you are using Windows XP, here's how you can check if your computer can see the server.

Click on start then "Run" and enter CMD in the Open box and Dos screen will pop-up then enter the following line on the command prompt.

PING mailqs2056.pair.com.

You should get the results if the Computer could connect to the sever.

Hello Dina,

Server failure is not your laptop issue. The server of service provider is busy could be because of heavy traffic, down time or another technical failure.

1. You can try signing off and on once again and send the mail or

2. sending the mails after some time.

To check whether the server is on track or not you can also send Ping request which is a computer network administration utility to check if the host connected to internet is alive or not.

Follow these steps to send Ping request –

i) Start/Run/type CMD/type PING mailqs2056.pair.com in DOS command.

ii) You will be prompted with a message in few seconds if the server is alive and

iii) then you will be able to send an email.

Hi,

This is non of your fault. Its the mail server that is not responding that could be due to some technical problems with the server that they will have to correct themselves.

Just wait for a while and it should be fixed within a day.

If it dose not then you should send a error report to the email service provider.

I hope this helped.

Peter franklin

Hi,

This is related to the email program or the setting that you’ve used to configure it.

First of all, please make sure that the “mailqs2056.pair.com” is the correct mail address server.

You can easily check if this is a valid address, running the following command in your command prompt: “tracert mailqs2056.pair.com” (without quotes)

Also pay attention at the connection type that you want to configure. If you are using IMAP, please check what is the real IMAP address from the mail server. The same you should precede for SMTP.

I hope you will fix this problem,

Aabel
