Thunderbird is not working Red Hat Linux 6

I am using HP Pavilion 10 with Red Hat Linux 6 (64 bit). I have Thunderbird 24.3.0 installed in it.

A couple of  days back, I have deleted lots of mails because of space issues and from that time onwards I am unable to move, delete the messages or save sent messages. I am having 2 IMAP accounts configured in it. One Is Zimbra and another one is Gmail. The syncing is happening fine still but I am unable to move, delete messages. I have deleted the.Myself files, keeping it in safe mode. Nothing really worked.

Can somebody help me out please?

Hi Matt, what I did is I set up by uncompressing the downloaded file, then extract it from the thunderbird directory to /usr/local then lastly, created a small link in usr/bin with ln-s/usr/local/thunderbird/thunderbrid/usr/bin/thunderbird. This way, my permissions are properly configured, though I’m outside the Linux environment and cannot check this in real time, and then later set up an icon via the desktop issuing a new file command “thunderbird”  in an x-term window and it will run flawlessly.
