If Microsoft Windows boots longer than normal and you experience applications exiting suddenly even if you did not close it, you should check the stability of your computer. There may be several reasons for this. It could be because of different errors in the operating system that needs to be checked.

It can also be caused by infection that messes with the normal processing of the computer. Another is, if your hard drive is heavily fragmented and you open many programs though your system has a small memory. First, check your operating system for any errors. Download and install PC Tools Performance Toolkit.

Once installed, start PC Tools then go to Recovery tab and then click Repair Drives. Select the drive to be checked, select Repair Drive, check “Perform on reboot”, and then click Start. Follow the instructions then restart the computer. See image.

If this doesn’t fix the problem, update your antivirus then run a full system scan on your computer. When the scan is finished, rescan the folder System Volume Information located in the root of drive C. When a computer is infected, this is the very first location that gets attacked.

If the folder is not visible, open Windows Explorer then click Tools and then Folder Options. Select View tab, select “Show hidden files and folders”, and then uncheck “Hide protected operating system files”. Click OK and you should be able to see the folder now.
