HP battery cycle count 500 but problem encountered already

I already encountered battery problems.

First, even after a full charge the battery would only last about an hour.

Second, if the laptop is in sleep/standby mode charging will stop (I am not sure if this is the way it is).

Lastly, even it was fully charged the indicator (bottom right portion, near the Time) says it is 50% only.

Hi,

The HP users face battery problem mostly.

The battery dilemma occurs mainly because of three motives.

1. The notebook is not plugged in the power line perfectly.

2. There may be troubles in the motherboard.

3. The life time of your battery has been reduced.

Hey Nelson,

To start, all devices are venerable to hardware problems.

If you are experiencing battery problems, the first thing you have to do is contact the manufacturing company, in other words contact HP.

If your laptop is still under its warranty then there will be no problem to exchange the battery.
