Hello all,

I am using Microsoft office 2007 on my pc. When I try  to import an excel file to ALM,

I get the following error message. The screenshot of the error is as follows:

 The error reads as:

A general error has occurred. Restart Microsoft Excel. ’Automation error The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.’

I have also tried it on other computers as well, but  the same error message appeared.

Could you please help me ? looking forward to your advice.

Thanks

jones

Hello Jones,

To resolve that issue, you will need to do a complete uninstall of the Quality center and then later on reinstall it on the client machine. That should resolve the issue.

Note that the HP batch uninstall utility may not be available for the ALM, and therefore you will need to uninstall manually.

Regards,

Nicke

Hello Jones,

As you have mentioned you tried to export file to ALM in other computers and the same error appeared that means you may not import the file in a proper way. Make sure you have opened the browser on the client from which you run excel which means firstly open the browser and update via the browser then use excel. One more thing you should check i.e. Excel add in version matches the browser ALM browser. Hope this will help.

Good luck.
