Every time I turn my Windows 8 computer on, my Java starts updating. It’s a big problem since the updating is done in the background and it does not ask me before using my wifi for this. How can I turn off Java auto update so that I can choose when to update?
How To Turn Off Java Auto Update?
Hi,
I can understand why this must be frustrating you because Java’s auto update is turned on by default. Although I would recommend updating Java as soon as possible, if you want to disable the auto update feature, here are the steps:
Find where Java is installed on your computer and click on the Java control panel.
You will see a tab called “Update”. Inside it, there is a checkbox which says “Automatically
check for updates”. Uncheck it, and auto update will be turned off.
