I don’t think you can uninstall Microsoft Internet Explorer. The Microsoft Internet Explorer is the built-in web browser of the Microsoft Windows operating system and there is no option to literally uninstall it from the system. If your existing version of the browser is just an upgrade, you can only remove the upgrade of the browser from the computer but not uninstall the browser itself.

If you don’t want to use Microsoft Internet Explorer as browser, the only way to get rid of it is to deactivate it from the components of the operating system. If you are using Windows XP, click “Start,” “Control Panel,” “Add or Remove Programs,” and then click “Add/Remove Windows Components” on the left pane.

In the “Windows Components Wizard,” uncheck “Internet Explorer” then click “Next” and then follow the instructions. This will remove Microsoft Internet Explorer from your system.
