I recently upgraded to Windows 7 from Windows XP. No, I was not living under a rock. I was trying to install a card reader for my computer that worked on my Windows XP machine. The reader is Gemsafe Card Reader. It is showing scardsvr exe is missing windows 7 error. How to solve this?

First things first. You are probably the last person to get to Windows 7 when people have already moved on to Windows 10. A lot of programs that worked just fine on older versions of Windows do not guarantee that they will work on new versions too.

In this particular case, there is no official report or statement from Gemsafe regarding support for the card reader on Windows 7. What this means is that Gemsafe has not yet launched a version of their program that is compatible with Windows 7. This is the reason that you are getting this error. Forcefully downloading this file and trying to run the program will bear no fruit in your case as the program does not know how to run on the new operating system.
