I have a Windows 10 PC, and when I tried to log in to SQL server, it showed an error saying that the object has been disconnected and displayed code 0x80010108 rpc_e_disconnected. I do not know what this error is, so can someone provide me with information on it and on how to fix it?

This error code shows up when you are trying to access an object that has disconnected all its connections with the client. The method, Distributed Component Object Module (DCOM) will return it. The causes for this method are, when the survey process ends, there is no network connection between the server and the client for six minutes or more open the server calls CoDisconnectObject function.

To fix this error, make sure that the date and time are correct in your system because this can affect the update time in your computer. Uninstall and reinstall the application that threw this error (in your case SQL). This behavior can also be due to third-party antivirus tools, so give permissions for remote connections. Since Windows has the built-in Firewall and defender feature, you can worry less about your system’s security.

Error code “0x80010108” is a Windows HRESULT error which stands for “RPC_E_DISCONNECTED.” The object called via RPC or remote procedure call has been disconnected from the client. This behavior or problem can be caused by third-party antivirus. You may encounter this error when installing update packages. First option to fix the problem is to uninstall your antivirus.

Temporarily disabling the antivirus is not enough that’s why you need to completely remove the program. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install. Once installed, start Revo then select your antivirus among the applications and click “Uninstall.” Follow the normal uninstall process. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click to restart later.

When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and click to delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo then restart the computer. After booting, install the update again. If this doesn’t work, try downloading the Windows Update Troubleshooter and run it.

Just follow the instructions to fix problems with Windows Update.
