If you receive this error when booting your computer, it means the machine can’t start the operating system because there is no bootable drive detected. One possible cause is if you remove the hard drive of the computer where the Microsoft Windows operating system is installed.

If you didn’t touch the drive and it is there inside the CPU, there may be something connected to the USB port like a USB flash drive or an external hard drive. In this case, check all USB ports on the CPU and remove any USB device that is connected. After this, restart your CPU and see if it works.

The problem is that, when you connect a USB flash drive or an external hard drive on the USB port and then you restart the computer without removing the device, by default, the computer will try to boot from the USB device detected on the USB port.

Now, if the USB device is not bootable or it doesn’t contain a bootable system, this will trigger the “no boot disk detected” error.
