Hi, I am encountering chrome update error 7. When I am trying to update chrome, how, can I fix this issue? Thank you so much in advance.

This error occurs when Google Chrome processes become unresponsive for some reason.

You can fix this error by

Solution 1:

Reboot the PC to end all the running processes of chrome.

Solution 2:

A better way is to use Task Manager and stop some of the activities as follows:

Go to the Details tab in the Task Manager
Find and select a process named GoogleUpdate.exe and then click on the End Task button to terminate this process.
Repeat the above step to terminate other possible processes related to Google Chrome like GoogleUpdateOnDemand.exe, GoogleCrashHandler.exe, or GoogleCrashHandler64.exe.
Restart the browser and try to update it.
Still, if you are not able to update, then reboot your PC and try once more.
