Hello MR. RED,

I will be very pleased if I would able to solve your problem. Selection of Home network is so easy in windows seven that you cannot imagine. I think your network setting is not properly set. Please do the following as I say:

  • Go to control panel from my computer or start menu.
  • Click on Network and Sharing Centre.
  • Click View Home networks in view your own network.
  • Set network location window will be opened. Click on Home network.
  • Click on close network.

I this you will set your home network just like this.

Thank you.

Hi Mr. Red,

To connect your pc and your laptop, you generally need these components:

  1. Network cards on both PC and laptop. They are usually already built into both your laptop and your PC, so you don't need to worry about these. If your PC doesn't have it, you can get it for about $20.
  2. A Cat-5 cable. You can get it from most computer stores. Just say to them you need a Cat-5 cable or simply Network Cable.
  3. Two RJ-45 connectors. When you buy the network cable, you should also ask for these connectors to be put on the ends of the cable. You can ask the store clerks to put those connectors to the cable for you.
  4. Now, put one end of the cable into the network slot on your laptop, and put the other end into the network card on your PC.

That's it! Your PC will have been connected to your laptop!

If you need to connect more than two devices (for instance, if you buy another PC), you will need another component called a HUB, you can get this for about $30 to $40.

I hope that answers your question.
