Hi. I am a Windows 7 user, and I want to store all the events as and when they occur in the system such as when a user logs in, runs any application, logs out, etc. How can I store all this information? Is there something like application event log windows 7 for performing the action?

Hi. You can store all the information regarding the user logs, time of log-in, time of log-out, inputs, outputs, etc. in an Event Viewer which is an application event log windows 7. This information can be used by users when they wish to troubleshoot with either Windows or some other program.

To open the Event Viewer,

1) Click on start menu and enter eventvwr.msc in the space provided. Then, press enter from your keyboard.

2) When you log in as an administrator, you will get prompted by UAC. Click on yes.

3) To see the list of events in the middle pane, click on the event log indicated on the left pane of the window.

4) You can also explore additional options in the left pane by right click on the event log. Example- In the middle pane, to find the Id number of associated to an event.
