Dear experts, I purchased a netbook running Windows 7. It has a Microsoft Excel Starter 2010 in it. My question is what is Microsoft Excel Starter? Is it different from other version of excel? Then, finally, how can I split cells using Excel Starter? Please help me on how to make Excel Starter cell split. Thanks
How to make Microsoft Excel Starter cell split?
Hey Carol,
To start answering your first question; Microsoft Excel Starter is a free online Web browser version of Office thus making it a bit more limited to all of its abilities.
As for Splitting Cells, that function is not available in Microsoft Excel Starter. You would have to upgrade to the full version to do that.
A small trick that might help you is: Write the content needed to split on a text file in the format you would like it to see in Excel. Save, and open as Excel. It doesn’t always work, but you might be surprised sometimes.
You can always click on “Purchase” which is located in the “Home” tab on the Ribbon if you feel like updating to the full version.
