Hello

I wonder where you’re going to use this animated background.  Is this for a website or for your phone?

 

If you are creating a website with animated background, I think it is not a proper design as animated backgrounds would usually be distracted of your background. There’s just too much movement that readers won’t be able to focus on the content of your website.

 

I suggest that you just use a solid neutral background or if you want some decorations, you can use some simple background patterns. You can set the background of you website using a simple CSS program like the one I’m going to show you below.

But if you insist, I recommend Spritely. They have a huge collection of animated backgrounds for just about any platform and website application. If you check their site, there's a display of the background they have already created, there's a lot of example there which you can check.  I like how they design their web backgrounds, no strong vivid colors.

 

They are using HTML and JavaScript for these designs. Another feature I like the most is the most with their product is that they're considered light-weight, meaning it doesn't eat up all the bandwidth of your internet. The browsers supported are Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera.

There are many background gifs websites where you can see and download images and those are easy to understand and attractive.

Here is a suggestion for you that if you are using GIFs in the background then, it will make text hard to read. You should select those backgrounds that work in harmony with the site, not in competition. In this way visitors will find your material much more accessible and useful. Your colors appearance should be attractive for visitors so use the most attractive contents for background image.
