Dear experts,

I have just a little question about routers. Is there a way to monitor browsing on router? I just wonder if I can monitor browsing history so that I will know who is connecting to my internet. I'm a little worried for my browsing security, any suggestions? Thank you.

If you are admin of the network you want to monitor, then it is very easy to do so. You can use different packet tracing software to monitor all the incoming as well as outgoing traffic in your network. Ethereal or Wireshark is one of the best software for this purpose. It will not only monitors the incoming/outgoing traffic IPs but the type of data also.

Hi,

There are lots of ways on how to prevent others on connecting to your wireless network without permission.

·         First, you must put a password in your Wireless Network.

·         So, anyone who can detect your Wi-Fi can’t access it without your permission because they need a password to have an access on it.

And there are ways on how to monitor different devices that are connected to your Wi-Fi.

·         Log on to the admin interface on your wireless network router or the wireless access point.

·         Go to the Wireless Configuration or the Wireless Status, it depends on your router.

·         Then look for the lists of wireless clients.

You can also check the router’s user guide for more details and instruction.
