Hello,

I just wanted to know what the error code 301 means which is appearing in my IBM PS/2. It doesn’t allow me to access any drives and boot up is somehow disabled due to this problem.

What seems to be the precipitating cause for this problem? I also want to know the possible solutions for this problem from you if you can. Thanks.

Hello,

The Error Code 301 of your IBM P/S 2 refers to the problem of keyboard malfunctioning. This might have happened because your software reset did not get response from the keyboard in the correct order. If the system detected a key which was stuck, that might have caused it too. In such cases, try out these possible solutions:

  • Switch off the computer, then refix the keyboard.
  • Look for a key which is stuck, try freeing it.
  • Replace the keyboard.

If the problem still is not solved, then do not panic. Contact the customer service of IBM.

Best of Luck.
