How to download and install norton desktop gadget in my windows xp operating system computer? I need a freeware version, but if there is no free download I will stick to shareware versions just to have a free access on the software. Thanks

Norton desktop gadget is not available for Windows XP operating system. You may try changing your operating system to Windows 7 or later versions to be able to use it. For the meantime, stick to shareware versions. You may also try other free antivirus like AVG, Avira, or Kaspersky. They offer good service for free. Check the links below to download.
