You must have spent quite a time in clearing your browsers history. But do you know that your browser not only keeps track of the websites you visited but it also keeps track and record of your online activity? All your online activities are stored in a database file, locally on your computer. Even your browser settings, bookmarks and browser sessions are stored locally on your system. Most of the time, these files have an SQL lite format and can be viewed using a SQL lite database browser.

On Linux based Operating Systems, you can view these files and folders as follows:-

Make sure that you have ticked the ‘show hidden files’ on the view sub-menu.

You can browse the ‘places.sqlite’ using an SQL lite browser. It is already installed on Linux Operating Systems.
