I always wonder how does it work ? Anybody knows how does they measure traffic of other web sites ?

Alexa rank is determined by :
1- Back linking: or more generally "search engine optimization" a very important part of computer engineering and
which is based on many rules made by a specific company.

2- How many Alexa toolbar users visit your site.

3- Traffic: the most important criteria you should focus on to get higher ranking.

Many people use Alexa rank as a method to specify how popular your site is but others think it's important to get
ads from companies, but you can just use Google analytics to get details about your site.

What you should know is that they are changing the way they rank different websites.

How does Alexa ranking work ?

Alexa rank is a record of the number of people acivity to your website. It works by simply taking data from all of the installed toolbars on the browser.

The Alex plugin keeps track of the Alexa rank, and therefore it is very important that you install it if you want to check the Aleza ranking. Installing the plugin may lead to the improvement of your Alexa rank, and that could be because of getting continual requests from the domain of the plugin. The plug-in will take a very short time to install, but it’s worth it.
