I guess it is not a problem with your operating system but with the available ports on your computer. If you simply want to connect a pen drive or a USB flash drive to your computer, you should check your pen drive again if it is USB 3.0 or 2.0. Your CPU should have a number of USB ports to connect your USB flash drive.
If your computer can’t detect the flash drive, it is possible that your drive and the USB port on your CPU are not compatible. Check also the available USB ports on your computer so you will know if they are USB 2.0-compliant or USB 3.0. For instance, if the USB ports on your computer are USB 2.0 and your pen drive is USB 3.0 then it will not work.
The flash drive is not compatible with any of the ports and your computer will not be able to detect it. Or it will be detected but with an “unknown device” status. If you have USB 3.0 ports on your computer and your pen drive is USB 2.0, this setup will work since USB 3.0 is backward-compatible with USB 2.0.
If your pen drive is USB 3.0 and the ports on your computer are USB 2.0-compatible, you need to purchase and install a new USB 3.0 PCI or PCI Express card adapter. See image.

First, enter your pen drive into the computer. Click on the start menu and run devmgmt. msc. Here you will see your pen drive options right click on it and change it to system format and if you don`t see your device, there then there is an option search for devices click on it and your pen drive will be shown to you. If this problem continues to then update or reinstall the USB driver in your system.
