You could not start your webcam due to two reason either it’s drivers are not installed or you do not know to start you cam from messenger which you are using to chat with your friend.

Window 7 provides robust way to install new hardware. You should attach your cam with pc and window 7 will automatically start searching from the web. If it fails to install drives. You should download drives from the website of your cam company or you may have CD of drivers along CAM. First try CD if you do not have CD then Just see the company website from the webcam and search website you can get drives from there.

Hi,

Just install the webcam driver software. I think there will be a driver CD with your laptop or a backup of the driver software in the laptop. Find out and install. If the image comes reverse then you have to find the appropriate update from Internet. It generally named as ‘ASUS Life Frame’.

Thanks.

In laptops, the webcam is usually integrated with the machine and is located just above the LCD screen in the center. If you bought your laptop brand new then I’m sure it already comes with a CD containing all the installers for the computer’s drivers. If you have the disk with you, you should check it for the webcam’s driver. Just install it to enable the device on your machine.

See also other documentation that come with your machine to help you on installing the device. After installing it, the operating system usually needs to be restarted to activate the webcam. Just restart your computer then see if the webcam works after rebooting the machine.

Hello Andarson,

You may not install your web cam cd properly to your laptop.  Install it properly,If you have already done that, you can take help from Asus support center which will be the best for you. Just go to help and support center and type your problem there.

Or you can type webcam in search box in your laptop then confirm the connection of webcam.

Thanks

Hi Dawn Andarson,

I have read your question and I actually encountered that before, I'll share My solution to you.

First check if your camera light is on, cause if not it maybe not connected properly. Second, a message pop outs and said "device is not installed properly" you will need a driver for your camera, or maybe the driver that you are using is not compatible with the model of your camera, there are many sites where you can download drivers for web cameras, just check the model of your web camera and search it, e.g. "driver for pk-65m A4tech camera". And go download the driver.

Hope this helps.

Goodluck

There's several troubleshooting to fix this one. Check Below for more details:

• If you're using external webcam, restart the computer and you can unplug and plug the USB cord of webcam to a different USB port. And also check if there would be any damage on the cable.
• If its internal webcam, Click start – Type device manager on the search box below – look for the webcam driver – press right-click on your mouse and select uninstall – after you remove the driver – restart the computer.
• Try to get the latest update for the webcam driver.
• If these diagnosis didn't work, the problem is the webcam. Just call the manufacturer and replace it.
