You can configure network level authentication for Windows XP by following the steps given below
1. Click Start
2. Click administrative Tools.
3. Go to Remote desktop services and then click on Remote Desktop session host configuration.
4. Right click on the name of connection and click Properties.
5. Select the Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication check box.
6. Click OK
