How to change windows vista start-up sound?

I have windows home premium on my laptop and i Wanted to change the start-up sound but i see that it only has a box that says, play windows start-up sound. My questions is how exactly do you change the windows vista start-up sound since I cannot find it anywhere?

To change the Windows Vista Start up sound, please do the following:

1. Click the Start menu and then open Control Panel and then click the Hardware and Sound button.

2. Select the Change System Sounds option.

3. Click the Windows Log-on from the Program box to launch the Sounds drop-down menu.

5. Select a sound from the drop-down list or click Browse to select a WAV file from your computer.

6. Test the WAV sound to preview it.

7. Check the Play Windows Startup Sound check box. Click Apply and OK and then close the dialog box.

Hey Carlo,

That has been one major topic for many people using Windows Vista.
One of the major work-arounds is simply to disable the start-up sound and setting the logon sound to one which pleases you. That can be done in the Control Panel, under Hardware and Sound, Sound, Sounds Tab.

Other people has managed to do it with some more complex tricks, but which, by following the posted instructions, you should be able to accomplish without problem.
