How can I use a Webcam with Ubuntu OS?
Ubuntu provides two kind of function named ‘out-of-the-box' or 'just-works'. Just plug-in your webcam and use it. There is no driver disks or installation. To test webcam works in this way, install Cheese.
At first you have to open the terminal window. Type the following command into the window
“sudo apt-get install cheese”
-
Then run Cheese. It should automatically detect your webcam.
-
For record video or take a snapshot, click either on photo or video and select TAKE A PHOTO or START RECORDING.
-
If there is still a problem then go to Troubleshooting For Ubuntu Webcam
Think it should HELP you.
