Hi I see an error message when I am writing some file. I use Windows XP service pack-2 in my computer.

Windows always say that you need to verify access to that directory. I tried many times but same result. So I need little help to solve this problem. This is error message

"Error 1304. Error writing to file:C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/THBlmg45.dll.

Verify that you have access to that directory."

If you have solution, please provide me for solving this error.

Thank you.

hi khan,

this problem prompts for some installers because you have limited access to these folders.

To enable to access this kinds of folders, you should install as an "administrator" on your computer.

To setup administrator permissions on your computer, do the following:

On windows XP or 2000:

  • click start > run > type in cmd > enter
  • on the command prompt type in cacls "c:Documents and SettingsAll Users" /T /E /C /G administrators:F
  • then exit

On windows vista:

  • click start > run > type in cmd > enter
  • on the command prompt type in icacls "c:ProgramData" /T /C /grant administrators:F
  • then exit

After doing those mentioned above, try running your installer.

Hope this helps!

Hello Khan,

It seems that you have McAfee antivirus installed with ePolicy orchestrator (EPO) turned on. McAfee ePolicy orchestrator agent blocks the auto-run feature which results the error you mentioned in your post. Now the solution is simple just turn the EPO off from the McAfee settings and reboot the computer.

Thanks
