You could try any of the following:

1.  Saving it as .doc file from Open Office in Ubuntu.  The .doc format of Open Office is compatible with Word 97, 2000 and XP.  You can then open it on any PC running Microsoft Office.

2.  Install an ODF/XML Translator Add-in for Office.  (http://odf-converter.sourceforge.net/).  They have add-ins for Word, Excel and Powerpoint.  Take note though that development of these add-ins are still ongoing so conversion may not be perfect yet.

3.  Download and install Open Office on your Windows machine.  This is the easiest solution since you can then have no problem transferring data to and from your Ubuntu to Windows PC.  It will take time to download and take up some of your hard drive space.  Your Ubuntu LiveCD may have a Windows version of OpenOffice in it.

4.  Boot up your PC using a LiveCD of Ubuntu and use Open Office from there.
