The best place to do this is to use web page test: Â http://www.webpagetest.org/
It will automatically detect who your provider is, and your IP address. Click on Begin Test and watch. It normally takes about 2 minutes to complete. You can then rate your provider. If your speed test is lower than what the provider says, you can give them a lower rating, and if higher, give them a good rating.
If you are not getting good speeds, you should also check your wireless networked card, sometimes older ones cannot handle the new speeds.
