Dear Experts Hello,

I have purchased a Used PC Which HP Branded. The PC Contains a Sticker Which Contains CD Key of Windows XP Home Edition? Is this legal to use this CD Key? I have downloaded a Copy of Home Edition of Windows XP but it prompts wrong CD Key Message? Please help me for Getting Right version of windows XP home edition for HP.

You can download your secure window XP home edition from the following web link.

However you could have also used your CD key written on your sticker in case you also had CD with you.

Though once you are able to download your windows XP from the link above you won’t face further issue.

You can’t use the CD key of Windows XP Home Edition that was installed from another computer because every computer that has an operating system installed in it should have dedicated CD key assigned.

1 Operating System (Windows XP Home Edition) = 1 CD Key
 

Once you install it, you will be no longer use that operating system and CD key to another computer.
Therefore, it is illegal to use that CD key since that key was already used before.

As a solution, you should purchase a genuine operating system that you can install on your machine. Either purchase it to the local computer store within your city or directly download it online. Kindly refer to the link below.
