One day all of a sudden I wake up and see, my webpage is, no-where on the search engine. When I try to open it, it is redirecting to some other page or displaying a variety of symbols. I got a notification that my website is compromised, and there is strange traffic on my website page. What would have happened?

The main reason for this can be hacking. All it means is the website hacking. The primary step is to call your site offline. Check for type of hacking, because it helps in solving the problem. Check your ownership in search console, because the hacker would have entered it and messed with the settings.

You should compare your website with good backup to know about the status of files and then need to replace them with a new one. You then need to check the code files and clean them. After resolving all the issues, you should restore the backup files that are safe from hacking.
