I bought a new Samsung galaxy S3 from a local provider but to my dismay he has changed some of the default phone icons to new ones of his own. I want to see all the factory icons in the display now, so pls tell me how I can do so? I have done "factory reset" and "hard reset" but was not successful in this attempt.

Hi !

To restore your Samsung Galaxy S3 you will have to rewrite your firmware. I don't recommend you to do this unless you know Android OS very good.

Follow the steps to know how to make the settings:

1) First you will have to download the ICS Firmware from the Samsung official site with the model and SN to your phone.

2) After you have downloaded the ROM file save and extract it on your desktop and you will have a single file as ".tar.md5".

3) Download the Odin3 3.04 and save it to the desktop.

4) Make sure that you have 70%+ battery on your phone and to not discharge in time of installation.

5) Boot into download mode by pressing ‘volume down’ + ‘home’ + ‘Power’ and release these buttons only after the display powers ON. Press Volume Up button to confirm that you want to load download mode.

6) Now, go to your PC and launch the ‘Odin’ executable file. The one you’ve extracted in step 4.

7) Now connect to your computer and ODIN should display a message box saying ‘added!!’. If you don’t see this message then it means that the USB drivers aren’t installed on your PC. If Odin did find the Samsung USB Driver you’re free to move to the next step.

8) Find the file you’ve extracted at step 2. It should have the ‘.tar.md5′ extension. Select it and it will be loaded into Odin.

9) Press the START button in ODIN and the program will now begin to install the stock firmware files.

10) After the installation completed it will appear a "PASS" pop up from Odin and it means that everything is Ok and your phone will restart.

Remember, don not do this unless you know Android OS very good. Also you might try to go to an authorized service and they will do this for you.
