The Nokia 5800 phone I have got has GPS navigation. I wish to use it as my traffic assistant, for which I need to activate 5800 gps talking option. How do I make use of voice assisted navigation when the phone is used in GPS mode.

You are using Nokia 5800 Smartphone. This is an fully load multimedia phone.
You can activate Taking option for traffic assistance. You can install language pack from Ovi store. Voice guided navigation typically comes free for 1 to 3 months depending on the device you get. After that you have to pay for a subscription fee.
All of this of course is assuming you are using Nokia Maps.
