I’m using Windows 7 and when I try to move the window to the screen edge it automatically gets the half size of the desktop.

I don’t know why this is happening.

Anybody can help me?

Hi,

Microsoft offers a very good option to automatically resize windows in Windows 7 and it is called ‘Snap’. Commonly it is very helpful to compare two documents.

You just click on the title bar of the window and drag it to the left or right edge of the screen and it will automatically resize to half of the window on the left or right side according to you have dragged the window to which edge.

If it is disturbing your normal working with windows, you can turn off this option by following the steps which I had mentioned down below.

1. Go to Control Panel > Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center.

2. Under ‘Explore All settings’ click on the ‘Make the Mouse easier to use’.

3. Under this option there is a section ‘Make it easier to manage windows’.

4. Under this check the check box of ‘Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen’.

I hope this solves your problem.

Regards,

James John

To solve this problem you have "turn off Aero snap" with the help of following steps:

  • Click START menu.
  • Type Snap in the search box and search.
  • The search result will show the Turn off automatic window arrangement then click it.
  • You will see a new window will appear then check the box [ ] Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen.
  • Apply the setting.
