Hi Knowles

You must check first if the Calibri font is available in your PDF file. You can check it by clicking Files>Properties. Some of Adobe Applications such as in design and photoshop, automatically embed fonts when it is installed in the system. But it is different from Acrobat. You can use Adobe Distiller that can automatically add missing fonts to PostScript Files.

Note: Earlier versions Adobe Acrobat (I think its from 3. x versions and older) will never embed these fonts:

  • Helvetica, Helvetica-Bold, Helvetica-Oblique & Helvetica-BoldOblique
  • Courier, Courier-Bold, Courier-Oblique & Courier-BoldOblique
  • Times-Roman , Times-Bold , Times-Italic & Times-BoldItalic
  • Symbol
  • ZapfDingbats

Then from version 4. x above, these fonts can be installed on your Acrobat.

I hope this information helped you.

If you are using Adobe Acrobat Professional when editing a PDF document and you don’t see the Calibri font anywhere on the fonts list, it means the font is not installed on your computer. Adobe products use whatever fonts are available or installed on your computer. The Calibri font is bundled with Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007.

If you have Office 2007 on your computer, you should also have the Calibri font on your system. In Microsoft Office 2003, the default typeface in Office Word is Times New Roman. In Microsoft Office 2007, the default typeface in Office Word is replaced with the Calibri font.

If you don’t have this font on your computer, you can install Microsoft Office 2007 or higher to get this font installed or download it elsewhere like from FontPalace: Calibri Free Font. Installing the font is easy. If you have Windows 7 or Windows 8, once you downloaded the file, right-click or double-click the font file and select “Install.”

But if you are using an older operating system like Windows XP, this option is not available. In this case, click “Start,” “Control Panel,” and then click “Fonts” on the left pane.

Control Panel click Fonts

On the next screen, click “File” then select “Install New Font.” Navigate to the location of the font file, select the font from the list or just click “Select All” and then “OK.” This should install the font on your computer.
