I am searching for software that locks a computer for a given definite period. Ideally the program should allow: making of a hotkey which when pressed shuts the computer for X time that I can determine. In simple terms, I want to be able to disable my computer completely with a hotkey and that this particular option doesn’t have an easy sidestep to unlocking the computer. If anyone has some clues on what software will fit my description, please let me know.

Hotkey that can lock a computer
Hi Aubrey Woods,
You don't need any special software to lock your computer. If you are using windows here is the trick. But first you must have a password for your user account. This method wont work without a password. Set the password in the User Accounts in Control panel. This is it. If you want to lock your computer press the windows logo key plus L. This locks your computer! To get back in just enter the username and password of your user account. This method will allow you to lock your computer for a time period you determine.

Hi dear your requirement can be fulfilled to do so please follow the following steps:
2. Once you have downloaded the trail version then install it on your PC its very simple to install.
3. After installation run it by its shortcut. It will run and will be shown in your system tray.
4. Right click the on its icon then click on Lock Computer.
5. When you click it your computer will be locked.
6. If you want to create a hotkey then go to its settings and create a hotkey to lock your computer.
7. You can also choose Transparency Mood while locking the computer so you can also watch movies or application running while computer is locked.

One more way to lock your computer is use Windows XP own auto lock option.
Hotkey for that auto lock is Winkey+L.
But I prefer the software Lock My PC instead of using Windows auto Lock option.
