Hiding IP address of my Desktop temporarily

There’s no way that you can just hide your IP address using your local tools in your Windows 7. Changing IP address can be also an option for you. You need an IP address to connect to internet. I am using Windows 8, don’t worry the process will still be the same with Windows 7.

1. Go Charms, look for Gear Icon and look for Control Panel.

2. Look for Network and Internet, click the link in the left pane Network and Internet and select Network and Sharing Center. Look at the left pane again for Change adapter settings click it.

3. Right-click on the network connection (Ethernet/WiFi) and select Properties.

4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4 or TCP/IPv6) >> select its Properties. Select Use the following IP Address and enter a different IP address for your computer. Click Ok button and you’re done.

You’re correct! Entrusting your computer with an easy-way-hide-IP-address is not a good idea. Hiding IP address is not a good idea also. Why need to make anonymous if you have certain tools that can protect your files? Always remember, having anti-virus software makes you more defensive to hackers and viruses or malwares. Plus, creating a back-up copy is the best way for you.
