There are some things that you will need to check on your computer and make sure that they are working properly.

First, you will need to check and make sure that the Wi-Fi button on your computer has been turned. When you try to connect the Wi-Fi with the while it is disabled then it will definitely not work.

You will need to go the device drivers and verify that the Wi-Fi drivers were indeed installed when you updated them from the manufacturer's site.

On your computer, go to start, and then locate Computer and right click on it.

Next click on system properties and then click on device manager.

In the device manager window, locate the Wi-Fi driver and see if it has been installed correctly.

In case it has got a yellow question mark on it, it means that the driver has not yet been installed, and therefore you will need to update it online.
