Headphone jack of Lenovo ideapad K1 not functioning at all

Hello experts,I am

I've been using Lenovo IdeaPad K1 for quite some time and it was working perfectly. I am not sure why suddenly something went wrong with its headphone jack. It is not working at all. I have tried it when playing games, videos , music and more to no avail. If I attached my headphone to my computer, I can't hear any sounds from it. The IdeaPad is still playing audio from my speakers. So I am sure that there is an issue with my headphone jack. I tried to restart the IdeaPad with the headphone connected, but it still didn't work. Can someone help or do I need to go to its service center to fix this?

Hello Salvador H Jordan,

Here is a quick fix:

Try inserting and taking out the headphone jack rapidly for about 30 seconds. That should move the headphone jack around a bit, hopefully reconnecting the headphone jack to its solder point. If you are a little tech savvy and don't mind voiding your warranty, you can fix it yourself by opening the phone. Find the headphone jack and make it is connected properly. If nothing else works take it to the service center.

Hi Salvador,

If you have been experiencing a problem with your headphone jack, there should be a problem with the hardware and sound setting or sound controller driver. To be able to troubleshoot and fix the issue, please follow the step-by-step process below.

A. Steps for troubleshooting hardware and sound setting issue

1. Go to the Control Panel

2. Click Hardware and Sound

3. Click Sound

4. It should pop-up the devices that are currently used

5. Plug the headphone and check if the headphone works

B, Steps for troubleshooting sound controller driver

1. Right click the computer icon and click properties

2. Click Device Manager located at the upper left side of the window

3. Look for the Sound, Video and Game Controllers drop down list

4. Click the drop down list and check if the driver is properly installed

5. If not, right click and click update driver software

6. Lastly, check if the headphone works.

I hope that this information would be useful and relevant.
